Chestnut Colt by Calyx – 50% Share

Tattersalls Book 3 sale has been kind to us in the past with Royal Ascot winner Signora Cabello our best purchase from it to date. Lot 1487, a son of Calyx ticked plenty of boxes for us physically and in terms of pedigree.

He is a good walking colt with size and scope - probably one of the best physically in the sale. However, it is his pedigree that really drew us in after a bit of research. By the ill fated Calyx he is out of an Australia mare called Kinrarra. Australia is by the wonder sire Galileo and when Galileo mares have been bred to Calyx (18 times) the resultant offspring have been rated 90+ on nine occasions. Four of them have been rated over 100. This gives us hope that this colt could make a high class racehorse himself.

He was purchased for 65,000 Guineas and 50% has been sold to a long-standing owner in the yard. The remaining 50% can be bought in part or as a whole. This colt has been broken in and can be viewed at Highfield.

50% share cost 32,500 Guineas (plus 5% agent commission)
