If you’re looking for a bullet type two year old then look no further than this colt purchased at the Tattersalls Ireland yearling sale. When we saw him on the sales ground prior to the sale starting we immediately marked him down as one we would try to bring home. He has great strength and is a real forward going horse. He just wants to get on with the job at hand.
His sire Tasleet has proven himself capable of siring top class sprinters in the shape of Bradsell. His dam is a half sister to Group 1 performer American Sonja (also by Tasleet). We purchased this colt from Con Marnane who remarked on the likeness between him and American Sonja. He should know as he also sold her too as a youngster.
Purchased for 38,000 Euros, this colt is eligible for the Tattersalls Ireland sales race run at The Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend.
This speedily bred daughter of Cotai Glory was high on our shortlist at the Orby Book 2 sale and it was no surprise that we had to fend off competition from breeze up consignors to purchase her. She is a February foal, out of a six furlong winner from the family of a champion two year old in Culture Vulture. We know quite a bit about this family as we have her half brother Phoenix Of Dreams in our yard. He is quite a capable sprinter with his best days still in front of him. However, this filly is a much sharper type and in our opinion looks even faster. Her sire Cotai Glory was a high class sprinter who has already sired a five furlong Group 1 winning filly in The Platinum Queen. Throw in to the mix that she is quite closely related to a Gimcrack winner called Approve and you can see there is a pretty potent mix of speed and quality in her pedigree. She is currently being broken in at our yard and is a very quick learner. If it’s early action next season that you are looking for then this filly should hit the brief. She was also entered in the Goffs Two Million series upon being purchased meaning that she qualifies to run in 50,000 Euro bonus maiden and novice races next season. By the end of the year she could well have paid for herself!Purchase price: 39,000 Euros (plus 5% agent commission)
A strong, early born filly this daughter of freshman sire Supremacy looks like an ideal candidate for early season two year old races next year. Her sire has already produced a fairytale filly in Anthelia this season (a low cost yearling) and we are hoping this girl can follow in those footsteps. Her half brother won on handicap debut this season by five lengths whilst her dam is a half sister to two smart horses in Dimenticata (placed in the Irish 1000 Guineas) and Master Fay (a top performer in Hong Kong). Her purchase price means that she will qualify to run in band C & D races next spring which opens our options greatly when race planning. We also made her eligible for the Goffs Two Million series which means that should she win an allocated maiden or novice race next year she will receive a 50,000 Euros bonus. That’s over double what she cost! Purchase price: 23,000 Euros (plus 5% agent commission)
The sire Starman needs no introduction. The leading freshman sire of 2025 can count star fillies Lady Iman and Venetian Sun among his progeny and has had winners aplenty every week. Whilst that was part of the draw towards lot 74 there is also the fact that the dam, Becuille, has been a remarkably good broodmare. She has sired 7 winners from 8 runners and four of them are rated in the 80s or 90s.
She is also a half sister to champion two year old Bushranger.
Purchased for £40,000 this filly smacks as being a likely type for decent two year old races next season. She is also eligible for the £500,000 sales race run at York’s Ebor meeting.
