Indian Pursuit Scoots in at Favourite Haunt
Quite simply Indian Pursuit loves Catterick. After his win on Tuesday his record at the track is now five wins and five places from twelve starts at the course. His forward going nature and ability to wheel around a sharp bend probably has plenty to do with it. He is well balanced and at Catterick if you can get on the front end of the speed you can sometimes be hard to peg back. That was certainly the case for Indian Pursuit this time around.
From a good low draw in stall one Indian Pursuit jumped well and made the running in the early part of the race, albeit on his own terms with one or two rivals keeping him company from out a little wider. He whizzed around the bend and on turning for home was about a length up from his rivals. He then pressed on with about a furlong and a half to run and was never really challenged. At the line he was a three and a quarter length winner.
It is great that Indian Pursuit is such a course specialist as Catterick is a course that is only one mile from Malcolm Walker’s father in law Mike Bruce. He never misses a meeting! Well done to all concerned
