My Ukulele Up and Running After Nursery Win
A string of good recent efforts from My Ukulele suggested that her turn was not far away and so it proved at Newcastle on Monday evening when she landed the two year old handicap on the card over seven furlongs.
Her downfall in recent starts had been her tardiness out of the starting stalls. However, on this occasion she broke well under Jason Hart and that was the winning of the race. From this point she was always able to race handily. She came under strong pressure two furlongs out but responded well to her rider’s urgings to hit the front a furlong out. She galloped strongly to the line to win by just over a length, drawing away at it.
Well done to her owners Andrew Robson and Alan Wight, in particular Andrew who bred the filly.
