It’s a Breeze for Charlie at Catterick
Since undergoing a wind operation in August of this year Je Suis Charlie has returned an improved performer. Where previously at the end of his races he appeared to be holding back and not going through with his effort I have been much more pleased with his application in the finish. Clearly the operation that he underwent has worked well.
At Catterick on Friday Charlie won his second race of the season over hurdles under Connor King. He always travelled like the best horse in the race and could have been named as the most likely winner from some way out. As I have said though it was his finishing effort that really pleased me. He galloped away from his rivals to win very comfortably.
His experience as a second season novice over hurdles has stood him in good stead and I am hopeful that the only way is up for Charlie both over obstacles and when he returns to the flat.
