Busy Schedule Reaps Rewards for Speedy Filly
Having made her debut in April of this year Keep Busy has been on an upward curve throughout and on Tuesday afternoon in Chantilly (France) she made her mark in Listed company when winning the Prix Yacowlef.
Her progress throughout the season has been most impressive and almost mirrors the career path of her mother, the speedy Look Busy. With each run she has shown improvement and in recent times there have been a number of occasions where we felt that she shaped better than her finishing result.
Under Ioritz Mendizabal Keep Busy went forward in the early part of the race. After a furlong though her jockey felt that the early fractions were a touch frenetic in the heavy ground. At this point he reigned her back slightly. This move may have been the winning of the race. Keep Busy travelled sweetly behind the leaders and was always looking a likely candidate to play a hand in the finish. When Mendizabal asked a serious question Keep Busy about a furlong from home she battled well to hit the front and fend off her nearest rival by three quarters of a length at the finish.
Keep Busy has earned herself a holiday on the back of this breakthrough Listed success. As mentioned, her mother Look Busy did nothing but improve throughout her career whilst Keep Busy’s sire Night Of Thunder was himself best at three years of age. This leads us to hope that Keep Busy might follow suit and next season we will aim for Group race success with her.
