My Macho Man Much The Best

 In Latest News

My Macho Man headed north to Newcastle on Friday evening and made a winning debut when striking in a one mile novice contest. This was a nice performance from the three year old son of Camacho who showed plenty of ability whilst offering hope of more down the line.

Jason Hart got his mount in to a nice rhythm in the early part of the race and got a little bit of cover on the horse just in behind the leaders. Midway through the race he displayed signs of greenness when coming off the bridle. However, Jason squeezed him up and he soon came back on the bridle going well behind pacesetters. My Macho Man was asked to hit top stride over a furlong from home and hit the front inside the last furlong to win by two lengths at the line. He was strong through the line and took a while to pull up which was encouraging.

Going forward I would like to think that My Macho Man could make in to a decent sort. It would be nice to think we could win a good handicap with him later this season when grass racing starts.
