Progressive Princess Breaks Maiden Tag
Highfield Princess, who had shown plenty of promise on her handicap debut at Doncaster last time, improved on that effort to break her maiden tag at Ayr on Tuesday. She contested a seven furlong handicap on the card and won it decisively under Jason Hart.
Highfield Princess, owned by our Highfield landlord John Fairley and his family, broke well from the stalls and was always in the ‘box seat’ through the race. She rounded the bend comfortably and Jason just had to be patient and not send his mount to the front too soon. Horse and rider lay down their challenge two furlongs from home and quickened in to the lead. Highfield Princess galloped strongly to the line and won by just over a length. I am hopeful that there could be more to come from this well bred daughter of Night Of Thunder.
