Safe Voyage Gains Group Two Success On Knavesmire

 In Latest News

Safe Voyage has put himself and our yard up in lights once again this season. In July he became he yards 1000th winner when winning on Derby Day at Epsom, breaking the course record in the process. At York on Saturday he gained the biggest success of his career when winning the Group 2 City of York Stakes. In doing so he posted a career best effort (I seem to write this a lot about this horse!).

Jason Hart and Safe Voyage dictated matters from pillar to post. Conditions were perfect owing to the rain that York had had in the lead up to the race and neither horse nor jockey was for passing. This field, as you’d expect, was a very strong one and featured a number or Group 1 winners. None could hold a candle to Safe Voyage though and he has teed himself up for another exciting Autumn campaign.

The aim now is to try to win a Group 1 race with Safe Voyage. When conditions are right for him he is a very smart performer and I think few would begrudge this hardy, honest and reliable seven year old a seat at the top table.
