Chelmsford Double Continues Yard’s Good Form
Indian Pursuit and Highfield Princess both gained narrow wins at Chelmsford on Thursday evening to continue the good recent form of the yard. Both horses have had excellent seasons themselves, in particular Highfield Princess who has now won four races in 2020.
Indian Pursuit’s win was gained by a short head an looked an unlikely outcome during every part of the last furlong barring the two yards before the winning post. Jason Hart rode him cleverly as whilst he is a horse that can make the running and has done recently the early gallop was strong and he chose not to chase it. I think that this move was the winning of the race. The early speed held up until late on when Indian Pursuit surged and put his head in front where it matters.
Highfield Princess’s win was gained in a different fashion. She dictated the early gallop and Jason was able to get a breather in to her at the mid part of the race. Turning for home she and the eventual second placed horse set down for a real tussle. Highfield Princess though was not for passing and she stuck her head out to win by a neck. She is improving all the time and her attitude will continue to stand her in good stead.
Runners between now and the end of the year will thin out a little bit with many horses enjoying a winter break but the small team that we do have on the go are doing us proud and we hope that there may be further successes before we say goodbye to 2020.
