Hurdling Success For First Impression

 In Latest News

First Impression made it third time lucky at Wetherby on Wednesday when winning a juvenile hurdle on the card under champion jockey Brian Hughes. He had shown plenty of promise in his first two starts over obstacles and probably did not have to improve here to get off the mark.

First Impression was always to the fore in this contest and travelled strongly in to the race. His jumping was still a touch novicey at times but I feel that he will improve in that department when he gets better ground in the spring and when he has more experience under his belt.

I will probably look to give First Impression one more run around Christmas time before giving him a small mid-term break. Hopefully he can progress further as the season goes on.
