2017 bay filly by Kodiac (GB) ex Bonnie Lesley (Ire) (Iffraaj (GB))

18,000 Guineas

Undoubtedly now eastablished as one of Europe’s leading stallions Kodiac has enjoyed another vintage year with his runners in 2018. The highlight of them has been G1 winning filly Fairyland who took the Cheveley Park Stakes a few weeks ago. This racy filly of ours was purchased from the same consignor as Fairyland, Tally Ho stud, who also stand Kodiac as one of their stallions.

This filly is a second foal out of the winning two year old Bonnie Lesley. He older brother Artair was a very early type this season and was a winner at Yarmouth in May of this year. I expect this filly to be similarly forward and hope that she can offer her future owner plenty of action in 2019. Bonnie Lesley’s family is full of speed. She is a half sister to the very smart sprinter Coulsty (also by Kodiac) whislt further down the pedigree are the very smart sprinters Lugana Beach and The Tatling.

Her purchase price of 18,000 Guineas does not look bad in the light of how strong trade has been this sales season and how fast she is bred to be.
